Namibia is a country of compelling beauty, abundant sunshine, and a feeling of unconfined space. With its unspoilt landscapes and large variety of game, Namibia is one of the larger countries in Africa, and draws an increasing number of visitors from various parts of the globe.

Namibia is home to the largest population of cheetah still in existence. These predators are known for their grace, beauty and speed, and concerted efforts are being made to preserve the species in the wild.

Tour itinerary

DAY 1: Arrive in Windhoek to be met and transferred to your accommodation for the night. Afternoon visit to Katatura Township. Dinner out in Windhoek.

DAY 2: Depart Windhoek and travel north to the Waterberg area. Arrive for lunch and setting up camp. Afternoon to explore the Waterberg area, climb the plateau and watch the sunset over the Kalahari. Dinner cooked on the open fire. Camping with hot showers, swimming pool available.

DAY 3: Full day to spend at the Cheetah Conservation Foundation (CCF). Visit their Education centre and meet the Cheetahs and Anatolian dogs which are used by the Centre. We have the whole day to learn about the conservation work CCF are doing with the cheetah of Namibia. Return before sunset for dinner cooked on the open fire. Camping with hot showers, swimming pool available.

DAY 4: Depart Waterberg and visit Hoba meteorite (biggest meteorite in the world) and then travel to the mining town of Tsumeb and Lake Otjikoto. We drive the short distance to Mokuti Lodge, on the outskirts of Etosha Park. Dinner will be at the lodge. Ensuite rooms. Swimming pool available. Snake park and private reserve to explore.

DAY 5: We need to rise early for a good breakfast and then into Etosha Park for a full day's game driving. The National Park has over 300 types of birds and most of Africa’s big game. We will spend the morning visiting the different waterholes and then take a break for lunch in Halali. After lunch and a quick swim we continue our game driving until we reach Okaukuejo by late afternoon. We set up camp, and dinner is cooked over the open fire. Our camp is close to the excellent floodlit waterhole and this is a great place to spend the evening. It is famous for its black rhino and elephant sightings. Camping with hot showers. Swimming pool available. Night waterhole for evening viewing.

DAY 6: We rise early and, after a quick cup of coffee, we head out on our morning game drive. Etosha has an enormous pan, a shallow, salty depression which once may have been a lake-bed, but now only fills with shallow water in exceptionally wet years. Around its perimeter, numerous waterholes attract great concentrations of wildlife and it is here that we concentrate our game drives. We return to relax during the heat of the day before our afternoon game drive. Camping with hot showers. Swimming pool available. Night waterhole for evening viewing.

DAY 7: Early morning game drive and then back to camp for cooked brunch. Depart Etosha and drive to the Kamanjab area. Arrive by lunch time and set up camp. Spend the afternoon with the Himba people living in a nearby village. This visit will give an idea of the way of lives of the Himba people, helped by a translator/local guide. Dinner will be cooked over the open fire. Camping with hot showers.

DAY 8: Depart the Himba village and a short drive to Twyfelfontein to visit the rock engravings, Burnt Mountain and the Organ pipes. After lunch we drive south to Brandberg (tallest mountain in Namibia) and to our lodge for the night, in the Ugab dry river bed. There is a good chance to view desert elephant here. Dinner is at the lodge. Ensuite rooms and swimming pool available.

DAY 9: After breakfast, we drive towards the skeleton coast and visit Cape Cross and the Fur Seal colony. Then south along the coast to Swakopmund. We have the late afternoon to explore the coastal town. Dinner is out at one of the many excellent restaurants. Chalet accommodation, 4 people to 1 bathroom, hot showers.

DAY 10: Early morning in town before heading into the Namib Naukluft Park and a spectacular drive through this desert. Lunch at Kuiseb Canyon and we arrive at our camp, within the Park, by late afternoon. Sunset walk at the nearby Elim dune and supper cooked over the open fire. Camping with hot showers and swimming pool available.

DAY 11: A pre-dawn start to the day! We are camped within the Park so we are allowed to enter the dune field before sunrise. This enables us to see the sunrise over dune 45 and breakfast amongst the dunes. We then walk to Deadvlei and Sossusvlei and have the whole morning here. We leave the dunes around lunch time and travel back to our camp to relax for a while. We visit Sesriem Canyon before the sun sets. Dinner is cooked over the open fire. Camping with hot showers.

DAY 12: Time for a good breakfast before heading back to Windhoek and to the airport for the evening flight.
