“The Roman Mysteries” books have brought Ancient Rome to life for many children. Families or unaccompanied children over 10 years old are welcome to join this 5 day tour of the best that Rome has to offer (including pizza and ice cream!) in the second week of Autumn half term.

We will visit the Colosseum, Forum, Pantheon, Catacombs, Hadrian’s Castel Sant’Angelo, the ancient port of Ostia Antica, as well as the more Baroque wonders of the Vatican. We will spend some time on the Ostia seaside and have a half day shopping on the last day.

Tour itinerary

Day 1 Early morning departure from the UK. Arrive in Rome and check in the hotel.
Afternoon visit to The Colosseum.

Day 2 Half day visit to the Vatican city and the Sistine chapel, followed by a cross town walk where we will see the Castel St Angelo, St Angels bridge, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon with a 40 min brake for coffee and ice cream; we will finish our day by the Trevi fountain.

Day 3 Morning visit to Ostia Antica – Roman port and ruins. Afternoon leisure time at Ostia seaside with swimming and ice cream.

Day 4 We will visit the old christian Catacombs of St Sebastian and the nearby Circus di Maxentius, after lunch we will visit the the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill.

Day 5 Shopping/free time until 1300. Late Afternoon flight to the UK.
