Just over an hour north of Rome, near Spoleto, in the medieval village of Eggi, is a 17th C Villa in a private garden, home away from home for a discerning group of people wishing to discover the pleasures and treasures of Umbria in an authentic environment.

Villa Campo Verde is designed to provide both peaceful places of retreat and areas (inside and out) to dine, work and play together as a group. Quiet garden areas, an orchard, an enclosed courtyard to the east and a split level terrazzo overlooking the pool to the west, provide options for relaxation at the end of the day trips across Umbria.

DRAFT Tour itinerary

Day 1 Sunday
Early morning flight London to Perugia and transfer by coach to Villa Campo Verde (40 mins) After a relaxed lunch take a walk locally to the village of Eggi and enjoy aperitifs on the terrazzo before a candlelit dinner.

Day 2 Monday
After breakfast catch the local bus into Spoleto and explore this city which has a delightful setting with Renaissance churches, and 11thC fortified Castle a Roman Theatre and characterful piazzas. Transfer back to the villa for lunch and after a relaxing afternoon there will be a cooking lesson. The results will be eaten for dinner.

Day 3 Tuesday
After breakfast we will make a bus transfer to the hilltop town of Montefalco which lies at the centre of the wine growing region in Umbria. After coffee visit the museum and churches before transferring to the Antonelli winery for a tasting and lunch. On the return journey to the Villa visit the Pardi Outlet for the distinctive linen produced locally. Dinner at the Villa

Day 4 Wednesday
In the morning we will make a visit to Assisi and enjoy a guided tour of the city and the two Basilicas built to celebrate St Francis and St Claire. After lunch there we will transfer to Bevagna, a small walled town which celebrates the medieval crafts once famous there. In particular paper making and silk weaving. Return to the Villa for dinner.

Day 5 Thursday
Just over an hour’s drive from the Villa is a magnificent landscape in the Sibillini mountains – Piano Grande. En route we will stop for coffee in Norcia – a small town celebrated for its fine food and St Benedict, who was born there. Lunch at the Villa. Later that day we'll enjoy an exhibition of jewellery The afternoon will be free before a celebration meal at a local restaurant.

Day 6 Friday
Departure for a mid day flight from Perugia to London.
