As has been the case for many years, Dragons were again to be found in Davos in January, where they enjoyed some excellent skiing and for some even too much snow! Ask Jan. All returned in good heart, if weary of limb (well, the adults anyway) and were reminded, where necessary, how Dragon Ski Trips can refresh the parts other trips can’t get near. Risk assessments & Health & Safety are thankfully alien concepts in Switzerland and thus we are now looking forward to our 50th year in Davos in 2013.
As the years go by, the list of people who have found their way to Davos as a motley crew of Dragon pupils, staff and parents has grown and grown. Some have even appeared on numerous occasions and in a different category.
We approach a big landmark in 2013 with the 50th anniversary of Dragons in Davos.
It was in 1962 that Mike Barrowclough (aka “Putty”) decided to organise a Dragon ski trip to Hotel Lohner in Davos, accompanied by both Mike Gover and Bev MacInnes and 22 other adults and Dragon children. Apart from 1967 and 1970 it has been an unbroken run.
As you may well imagine, we intend to celebrate massively in 2013, but in the meanwhile there is still one ski seasons which it would be a great pity to waste, and hopefully you might like to consider the possibility of returning to the Parsenn pistes in 2012. There are plenty of options and it would very good to hear from you, whether you are hoping to join us or not.

January 6th – 13th 2013. The time favoured by the real regulars wanting something a little more leisurely perhaps. We usually coincide with a group of cricketers led by Bob Bennett (ex England tour manager & Lancs CCC) together with Keith Fletcher (Essex & England). Jeff Aronson is in 7th heaven!
So come and celebrate with us, register your interest at skiing@smaugabroad.com
The programme of the festivities will be published soon
Please note that we are flexible on travel plans and can organise shorter breaks within those dates. Call Jean-Claude at Smaug Abroad on 01865 315 441.
