This course is aimed at boys who are about to sit exams in the Summer term 2017 for Eton Scholarship, Winchester Election and Winchester Entrance.
Although the emphasis in tuition will be on Latin and French, there will also be teaching in English (and Greek/German if required). Scholarship candidates do have a choice of different options in their exams, and the timetable will be designed to accommodate different requirements. There will also be supervised revision sessions in other subjects which the boys will bring with them. All course materials (produced specifically for this course) will be provided.
It is expected that the boys will do around 5 hours work a day, and feedback from last Easter's course was that revising with friends made the whole task seem much easier and more productive.
The course are run by Dr Peter Norton (ex-Head of Classics) and his wife Susan, who taught French at St Edward's for ten years. The courses take place at their home in South West France. The house is well equipped for down-time (swimming pool, volley-ball, table tennis, croquet, table football, badmington, petanque), and there will also be outings arranged for students. Whilst work is the main focus, students will find themselves able to relax and have fun with their friends in a comfortable and homely environment.
